Minä

AI powered behaviour change to deal with chronic disease

Alpha Health · Nov 2017 - Jun 2018 · Visual/Interaction Designer

At Alpha Health we wanted to tackle chronic disease, whose driver is everyday behaviour. We started by creating an app serving as a mirror to show users how they spent their time, and help them do more of what made them happy

We combined a personalised experience, conversational UI, AI and cognitive behaviour change to support users’ wellbeing and mental health.

Helping users make the most of their time

Minä helped users understand how much time they were dedicating to different areas of their life, and gave them personalised tips to find a better balance.

Conversational UI to support users

Minä’s AI powered chat offered tailored CBT content to support well being and mental health.

Exploring a transparent data sharing experience

Minä needed access to different sensors in the user’s device. We tried to be as transparent as possible, explaining what each sensor was needed for and how it would be reflected in the users’ experience.

My role in the project

  • Initial concept ideation.

  • Ideating, wireframing, conceptualising, testing and helping implement different features.

  • Brand ideation, creation and implementation, making sure it was represented throughout the whole app.

  • UX architecture design. We took an MVP approach to be able to launch as soon as possible and start testing the product out in the field.

  • Create prototypes to test and validate design hypothesis.

  • Help conduct user research that would support the design decisions and would help improve the product.

  • Design and build landing pages, marketing materials and social media assets.
