Nat West - Better off
Helping NatWest customers Get Better Off
Fjord London · 2017 · Visual Designer
Everybody wants to achieve the best life style they can by making their money work as hard as possible. In 2017, we were was asked to design the next breed of data-driven banking service that people love, and prove what our market-leading offering was in the Open Banking world.

Helping people understand their money
The home screen gave a clear summary of peoples’ financial position, that would be understandable at a glance. We also compared their current spending to their usual patterns to give them much-needed context to make better decisions.
Users could even get insights to help them understand their spend and relationship with brands.
Offering a categorised spend view
Seeing a categorised spend breakdown allowed new ways to see and understand expenditure, and empowered people to make better money decisions.
Celebrating users’ improvements over time
Better off gave clear feedback of how and where their spend had improved, celebrating improvements over time.
It’s easier to change behaviour when working towards a specific challenge. Showing progress kept people engaged and connected with their spend.
